BAD NEWS BASS PRESENTS: CHOMP ON RATS

Event Dates: Every day in July 2026

CHOMP ON RATS is an online Instagram fishing competition where registered anglers can win prizes by catching qualifying bass on rat baits.

ELIGIBLE SPECIES

Participants may submit catches of the following species:

• Largemouth Bass
• Spotted Bass
• Smallmouth Bass

Minimum Size Requirement: None — all sizes qualify.

BAIT REQUIREMENTS

• All entries must be caught using a hard rat bait.

• Production, custom, and handmade rat baits are eligible.

• Rat bait body length must be a minimum of 4.5 inches.

• Tail length, hardware, and accessories do not count toward the minimum body length requirement.

HOW TO ENTER

1. Purchase an Angler Card sticker at www.badnewsbass.com.

2. Write your Instagram handle clearly on the card.

3. Take a clear photo showing:
Your catch
The rat bait used
Your Angler Card

4. Post the photo to Instagram as a feed post.
Stories do not qualify.

5. Tag @badnewsbass in your post.

Entry Limit: One fish, one entry per angler.

RULES & VERIFICATION

• Angler Cards are non-transferable and may only be used by the registered purchaser.

• Public Instagram profiles are strongly recommended for verification purposes.

• Questionable entries may require additional verification, including:

• Proof of purchase / order number

• Supplemental verification materials

• Instagram handles must be handwritten on the Angler Card and clearly legible.

• No AI, editing tools, or digital alterations may be used on the Angler Card.

• Fish must be caught legally and in accordance with local regulations.

• Safe fish handling and catch-and-release practices are strongly encouraged.

• Buzzer beater entries have changed. Any submission made on the final day of the event must be posted as a cast-to-catch video post to qualify.
